The Suffolk Punch Trust is open 4 days a week until 31st October, when we close for the season. Please note however that we will be open 6 days a week for the October half term Halloween activities.
You only need to book if you wish to pre-pay as we are now open for daily walk-ins.
For your safety we will be opening with some Covid-19 restrictions in place until we are advised otherwise. Once here you will be able to access the farm but we would ask you to maintain social distancing at all times, keeping you, our staff and our animals as safe as possible. It is recommended that you continue to wear a face mask / face covering whilst inside the Visitor Centre and the implement barn. We can assure you that all necessary measures have been put in place to keep you as safe as possible. Thank you for your patience, understanding and continued support.
Our visitor centre opens at 10.00 am and closes at 4.30 pm. When you book, you are booking for entry to the farm and you can arrive at any time during the day but first entry to the farm is at 10.30 am and last entry is 3.00 pm. If you have any problems booking, please call us for assistance. If we do not answer the phone, please leave a message and a contact number and we will call you back Tel: 01394 411327.
You will have access to the site to wander at your leisure but under no circumstances are you allowed to enter the horses' paddocks. We will be holding tractor trailer rides between 12.30 and 1.30 and a guided tour on foot at 2.30pm. If you want to join either one of these you can do so but if you prefer to wander then that is fine. Our experienced tour guides are very knowledgeable about the farm and the horses and will make sure you have lots of photo opportunities. Our walks are all open for you to enjoy.
Our indoor children's play area is open and we have a brand new outdoor play area for the children to enjoy.
There is free entry to our museum, shop and cafe, with outdoor seating and a takeaway option will be open as usual with all social distancing controls in place. Free entry to our Heritage Garden - in 2016 it became the first garden to be awarded 'County Collection' status by Plant Heritage so is well worth a visit.
Dogs are very welcome but must be kept on the lead at all times.
Unfortunately, at the moment, the stables remain closed to the public as it is imperative that we keep our stud staff as safe as possible. Our Stud Manager will ensure as many horses as possible will be out in the fields for you see, including our 3 foals born this year. We are not able to do any demonstrations due to the lack of space to enable social distancing.
